Benefits of using Gymnastic Rings:
Improve Your Joint Stability
Joint stability is your ability to hold your joints in good alignment. Because gymnastic rings are free to move in all directions when you perform exercises such as pushups, dips or pull-ups, your muscles must work very hard to keep your joints properly positioned. Increasing joint stability can enhance joint health and increase functional strength. The same exercises performed using traditional strength-training equipment are not as effective for increasing joint stability.
Build Better Balance
Balance can mean two things -- your ability to keep your center of mass over your base of support and ensuring that the muscles on your left side are as strong as those on your right. Gymnastic rings can be used to develop both kinds of balance. Handstands, dips and other exercises using rings can help you develop a high degree of balance and, because your arms must work independently, any left-to-right strength discrepancies will be revealed and can be addressed. Both kinds of balance are important for a wide range of daily and sporting activities.
Workout Portability
Gymnastic rings are light and portable so you can take them with you and exercise anywhere you can find a suitable anchor point. Strong tree branches, pull-up bars, roof girders and climbing frames at a park are all viable fixing places for gymnastic rings. This means that gymnastic-ring training is ideal for anyone who is on the road, likes to train in a variety of places or simply does not enjoy being restricted to working out in a gym.
Unlimited Scalability
Gymnastic rings are very versatile and can be used for relatively simple exercises as well as exercises that would make an Olympic gymnast balk. By bending or extending your legs, you can shorten or lengthen your levers and instantly adjust the difficulty of many exercises. Similarly, you can use a little or a lot of leg swing, properly called kipping, when performing exercises like pull-ups and muscle ups -- less momentum makes for a more demanding workout. This scalability means that it is unlikely you will ever completely master all aspects of gymnastic ring training and should always be able to find ways to vary the intensity of your workout.
